Dear Families,
WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND
Funds from this event have already been targeted for the construction of our new and exciting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program which will benefit all students at our school. Every dollar donated will make a difference.
Photos have been made available via Facebook and we will make sure to publish more as they become available.
ELECTION DAY BBQ - Help Needed Please - THIS WEEKEND!!!!
As you all know Saturday is the Victorian State Election and our school will be a polling booth. We will be running a Sausage Sizzle to raise more funds for both the Grade 6 Graduation as well as the STEM Program. If you are available for an hour or 2 between 11:30 and 3 to assist with either cooking or money collection it would be greatly appreciated. I understand many of you have helped with the Color Run but if you were not able to make it we would really appreciate a little of your time.
So as not to ask too much of your time after last weekend we will be sharing the day with the Kingston Heath Cricket Club from Southern Rd. They have covered the morning shift so we only need people from 11:30 - 3.
Please call the office to register your interest.
FREE DRESS THURSDAY
Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday Nov 22, is a Free Dress Day with a gold coin donation going to the Grade 6 Graduation.
Best wishes

Congratulations
Congratulations to Adam Borak who was selected and
recently played in the Singapore International Youth Cup 2018 held in Singapore.
Adam played for Rowville Eagles which was the only Australian team in the Under 10
age group. Rowville Eagles played a total of 8 games against Malaysia, Japan,
Thailand, Indonesia, India and Singapore and Adam was the top scorer for his
team. They came 2nd overall out of 40 Asian countries and only lost one game
which unfortunately was in the finals, losing to Malaysia with a close score of 4:3. Adam was the 2nd top scorer in the tournament out of over 400 children in
his age group which was a huge achievement especially in the very hot and humid
conditions with temperatures in the 30's and over 70% humidity. It was a great
experience for the boys and we are very proud of Adams achievements. Well done!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK CLUB
Dear Mentone Park Families,
Welcome to another year at school and the beginning of a new issue of Scholastic Book Club catalogues!. Orders can be left with the office or please order via the online ordering system called “LOOP” - details are in the catalogue. When ordering there is an option to mark as a gift if you would like your order sent to the office instead of to class for your child to take home.
To families new to our school the Scholastic Book Club generates reward points which we claim back throughout the year as new books and resources for teachers to use in class. Each book club order earns 20% in rewards points – they soon add up! Scholastic often have some great books on special for as little as $2, so look out for their “gold coin books” in the catalogue
If you need any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me via the school office or call the Scholastic Customer Service number 1800 021 233.
Best wishes
Jenny O – Book club coordinator
